Data Governance Act (DGA)

In setting up the data space with the iSHARE Trust Framework, it’s important to consider the relevant provisions of the Data Governance Act (DGA). The DGA provides guidelines for sharing data that may otherwise be protected and difficult to share. These guidelines are reflected in documents such as the Data Space Agreement, Accession Agreements, and the Terms of Use, all which must be drafted in accordance with the DGA. Additionally, as the data space expands, other international laws may also become applicable. The DGA provides context for the sharing of non-personal data, while GDPR rules still apply to the sharing of personal data. To operate and use the iSHARE Trust Framework effectively, participants must adhere to these safeguard and rules as outlined in the DGA for different scenarios and concerns.
